Message from the ICCO Global President

Dear PR practitioners and friends,

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses”. These words, which the genius entrepreneur Henry Ford said more than a decade ago, also partly illustrates the philosophy of the forthcoming ICCO Global Summit in Helsinki.

Having enormous experience from the past almost 30 years and numerous high-ranking international events we have decided to launch this Summit focussed around the amazingly interesting topic: ‘Innovate | Engage | Evolve: Leading in a transformational world’. The world is changing and I am sure you will agree with me that those changes made our business, public relations, one of the most dynamic in the world. We all know that everything we were doing just a couple of years ago does not work anymore and thousands of new tools and approaches have turned our business upside down. This of course put in front of us many challenges and we can overcome them only if we meet much more often and exchange experience, learn the newest trends in modern public communications, and start practicing them.

The ICCO Global Summit is a unique opportunity not only to meet the top managers and practitioners of the world's public relations and communications businesses, but also to check how your business compares to others, and learn a lot from other countries, cultures and experiences.

At such international events, I always believe in the simple formula for a successful use of your time: good speakers and enough coffee breaks to make contacts. In beautiful Helsinki, you can be sure we will have all of them. This year also for the first time we have launched a ‘Call for Speakers’, which gave you the chance to apply for a slot in the Summit programme and may also give you an opportunity to share your vision, achievements and case studies with the international audience. On the other hand it will give us the opportunity to select the best and the most interesting speakers. You can also contact ICCO’s main office in London with any practical ideas and suggestions you may have so that the Summit will be more successful and beneficial in the interest of all participants.

We are looking forward to meeting you in person in Helsinki in October, and to discuss with each of you further ICCO activities, latest developments in our business and also to exchange visions about how to make our common cooperation much more successful and results oriented.

Sincerely,

Maxim Behar
ICCO Global President
