Brad Staples is chief executive officer of APCO Worldwide. He leads the firm’s operations across more than 30 offices around the world, serving over 80 countries. Since his appointment as CEO in January 2015, APCO’s global business has grown steadily and achieved higher performance levels than at any point in its history. Brad’s leadership focuses on strengthening APCO’s presence in key markets, expanding the firm’s core capabilities and investing in the expansion of new digital capabilities globally. Key to the future is Brad’s focus on building a diverse and inclusive culture. The business is a market leader in empowering women in leadership and diversity at all levels of the organisation. APCO was recently named “Public Affairs Agency of the Year, 2018” and “Best EMEA Network to Work For, 2017” by The Holmes Report.

Brad has extensive experience as an adviser to CEOs and business leaders facing complex communications challenges, corporate transformation and in supporting sovereign clients seeking to drive inward investments and an enhanced international reputation. In addition, he has conducted programs and campaigns for multinational companies across a broad range of industries and policy areas worldwide. He has led APCO’s competition practice, navigating challenging acquisitions and mergers in multiple jurisdictions.

He first joined APCO in 1996, as MD of the firm’s first European business in Brussels, before going on to head the EMEA region. He then served as president international and chair of global development. Prior to joining APCO, Brad managed the Brussels operation of a leading UK consultancy and formerly ran its EU unit in London. He was a researcher to a Member of the European Parliament.
